Position Summary:
A permanent part-time, 20 hour per week position that works within the child welfare arena to provide appropriatetreatment planning for children with additional behavioral and mental healthneeds or concerns. Works with children, caregivers, Community Mental Health(CMH), school systems and other service providers to create and implement atreatment plan focused on the behavioral and mental health needs of thechild.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides treatment planning and leadership of the treatment team.
  • Provides assessment, treatment, and case reviews to children andcaregivers.
  • Works in-conjunction with the Treatment Foster Care Worker andSupervisor.
  • Provides training to Caregiver’s and Staff specific to child’sbehavioral and mental health needs.
  • Completes and submits required reports and documents as requiredby contract.
  • Refers appropriate behavioral health and mental health services tochildren and families. Provides treatmentservices to ensure appropriate services are being implemented and appropriatelyutilized.
  • Maintains regular contact with children, caregivers, therapists,school personnel and other service providers related to the implementation ofthe service plan.
  • Regularly attends supervision, staff, program, training, andAgency meetings.
  • Performs other special assignments at supervisor’s request.

Employment Qualifications:
Education:

Master Degreein Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or a Human Service related fieldrequired.

Experience:

  • A minimum of (1) to (3) years of experience in behavioral healthor Child Welfare required.
  • Child Welfare Training Institute (CWTI) Training is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Nolicenses are required, but valid and current State of Michigan Social Worklicense is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Must havereliable personal transportation (vehicle) and auto insurance limits requiredby law and Agency as travel is required to meet Agency needs.
  • Must have validMichigan driver’s license with zero work restrictions.
  • Evening and weekend hours will be intermittently required.
  • Knowledge and/or ability to utilize the DHHS computer systems andany other computer systems required by contract.
  • Ability to utilize a computer to create work documents and toperform email functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have experience working with Michigan courts or possess theability to successfully interact with court personnel and appointed attorneys.
  • Must have strong conflict resolution skills and ability to workwith difficult individuals.
  • Must have strong engagement skills, coping skills and patience fordifficult situations.
  • Must have experience working with children and families who havebeen traumatized.
  • Must submitto Agency approved background checks.
