Position Summary:

This position has responsibility for providing sex offender treatment therapy serving counties in the State of Michigan Northeast region. This position requires independent and organized work in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the program and/or department in a timely fashion. In addition, this position supports the mission and vision of Catholic Charities West Michigan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling and/or psychotherapy,
  • Renders sex offender group therapy services.
  • Provide diagnostic assessments and evaluations.
  • Assess client needs and eligibility for services.
  • Work with clients to coordinate and facilitate services.
  • Organize and maintain program and/or department records, rosters, files and any other related department documents..
  • Provides case consultation within the Agency and with community resources.
  • Completes clinical paperwork in a timely manner following the quality expectations identified by the contractual obligations and supervision team.
  • Plan and provide educational presentations as required.
  • Provide counseling and consultation services at other off-site locations as required.
  • Maintain the accuracy of any and all related databases including, but not limited to, program or department data, demographics, statistics and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide support and/or assistance to co-workers and/or Agency management personnel.
  • Attend all related Agency meetings and/or training programs as required by this position.
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in representing the Agency to clients and community members.
  • Adhere to all Agency policies and procedures as they relate to this position.
  • Maintain all client relationships and related Agency documentation in a highly confidential manner adhering to all related Agency policies.
  • Participates as part of a team that is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing quality programs which support the mission and vision of Catholic Charities West Michigan.

Employment Qualifications:

Education:

  • This position requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling from an accredited college or university;

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year working with sex offender population is highly recommended, however not required.
  • A minimum of one year experience working with offender population is strongly encouraged.
  • Substance abuse and mental health experience recommended.
  • bi-lingual; Spanish-Speaking preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • This position requires a valid State of Michigan professional license to render services.
  • This position requires a valid Michigan Driver’s license with zero work restrictions.
  • This position requires use of private vehicle for business while maintaining personal auto insurance to include $100,000 to $300,000 liability coverage.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment, resourcefulness, and maintain effective working relationships with peers, Agency management and clients.
  • Ability to relate to diverse populations and cultures.
  • Must be willing and able to work irregular hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends as position responsibilities required.
  • Must be approved through Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) with a Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) clearance.
  • Must submit to Agency approved background checks..
